Chit Chat Thread for the week of April 12th, 2010

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related.

Have fun...

This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.

MaryAnn Melby AKA Miss POI

Yes, I was one of the befuddled ones.....ya ya

What happened this morning???????
Couldn't tell but it looked like you couldn't see the other post and thought you were #1.

Nope I published the thread but didn't provide a reply button so everyone could post.

There was lots of scrambling this morning and posting in other threads or making new ones.

It was highly entertaining.

Miss POI

The grass is green

Hello

Hello MaryAnn just picked a new gps and thought I'd drop in.. Of course it's a Garmin (my 3rd one) but this time it's a refurbed Nuvi 265wt.. My C580 still works fine but it was time to pay for the MSN subscription so I decided to pass it to the wife as I use traffic daily when commuting and free traffic makes sense.. Hope you and Jon are doing well!!

Hey there sweetie, seeing your happy face just made my day. I love it when old friends pop back in to say hi. I hope all is well with you.

We are doing great.

MaryAnn

DOW was up again today

Only a few points up, but still hit 11K for the first time in a long time.... 401K is looking better each day, glad I stayed the course. Last March, there were people that said we would NEVER see our 401K's in the black again.

!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't like being #1

It carries too much responsibility.

Boat fixin' time is here

Yup, the weather is warm enough to get out and do a little fishing but first I have to build a new casting deck. That has to happen soon because turkey season opens here in about two weeks.

Hope all at POI-Factory have a great week.

If you haven't guessed, I'm new, and what does a windmill mean?? I'm sure someone will tell me to read the rules.
But I do know where a windmill is located, on Rte 25 between Batavia and Geneva IL. Does that count??

Here ya go Ramtrol. http://www.poi-factory.com/node/6665

Then click on your name in the post above, or "my account" under your name in the right hand column, to get to your "profile" page. It will tell you your status and progress as a contributor. It updates on Mondays...

Next week it will probably say you have your first week (of 3-in-5) of activity.

You know, I noticed just prior to reading this that there wasn't a "Windmills in the USA" POI

Maybe a project for you to get your feet wet? wink

redface Now thats funny, i thought the thread
"Keeping the Windmill Alive - Where was your last trip with your GPS?"
meant someone was tracking all of the old windmills in the US as opposed to all the new ones sprouting up all over the nation for electric generation. redface

Second page

I don't think I have ever been on Page 2 of the Chit Chat thread. I was really asleep at the switch today.

Spent most of the day judging the Arizona state SkillsUSA championships at the Phoenix Civic Plaza. This work stuff is getting in the way of my retirement, but hopefully I made a difference in the future of some student.

Drive carefully, the life you save may be mine!

Yep, Me too until I realized it signified ones active status.

And I was really surprised searching for "wind" on the alphabetical poi file list, nothing for wind driven mills.

I remember passing a few on my last trip. I think it would be a kick-ass "member participation" project.

Vacation

Need one....

We're surviving here..

As bad as the economy has been we're doing fine.. My son Joe will grad HS this year and got accepted at some very good schools including NorthEastern, Drexel, UMASS Amherst and Syracuse.. He is leaning toward Syracuse as they gave the best scholarship plus a good reputation.. He will be in the engineering program.. Very exciting! My daughter Renee is currently at Framingham College and is switching to Bridgewater State next fall.. Aimee has her bachelors from Bridgewater State in Acctg. and finance.. One left and she will be 13 on the 15th.. Always busy here!! Oh and I am now a grandfather too! Her name is Lillian Marie..

Take Care,
Ray

Oh yea

What could be better, Beer hot dogs and a lazy afternoon or evening watching a Baseball Game.

I still am not crazy about inter league play though, I would much rather see for example the Yankees more than One series here in Cleveland and once in New York. Let the American league teams play it out and keep the National league teams out of the schedules. Of course that's just my opinion.

It must have been nice seeing the rings get distributed today!
