Avatars

I don't know if any of you have been paying attention to many of the Avatars used here, but I owe mine to two different users.

Rayzers animated it for me and BobDee modified it so it shows "POI-FACTORY." If you are having problems with getting your avatar "just right" I suggest you drop a note to these two.

Thanks guys!

Scanned mine

I made my avatar by scanning a patch that I got when I transferred to the 509th Fighter Bomber Squadron in 1957. Then I used Irfanview to resize the image to 80 by 80 pixels.

Resized mine

Mine was from my wedding! And no, I am not a crooked southern politician!

About my Hippo in the pool

It's the "official" nickname for my LandRover Freelander first series, and I must admit it does look a bit hippo-esque from its shape and the side mirrors playing the ears.

Dunno if you guys see them often in the US, they're quite frequent here in Europe. And I really like this rig, even if it's "just a car"

Then LandRover changed the look, and they stopped being called Hippos...

But I still like to take mine to play in the mud, it actualy performs quite well in off-road !

Mine

Mine is a picture of "The Wall" in Washington, DC in memory of the 59,000+ men and women who died fighting for our freedom in Vietnam. Let's take some time on the 31st of May and remember these people who willingly gave up their lives so that we may be free today. I have two friends whose names are on "The Wall". Both died at the ripe old age of 19.

Traveller RPG

I'm a fan of role playing games, one in particular. So I superimposed a picture of someone (Christian Slater I think) on top of the game's imperial starburst logo.

Heck...my user name also reflects that game. So...if I want to change mine (unlikely), I'll do up my own.

Log Off to clear your head

Thanks

Sometimes you just have to log off to clear your head. Then you can operate the mouse properly. Been there! Sometimes its the eyes that stop working correctly after looking at the screen for too long also.

Curious, your avatar still looks the same to me.

Shortcut for clearing cache ?

Here's a little tip I've shared before - not here, though...

Right-click on desktop background, New, Shortcut - the command you want to type is as follow

C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 8

Ah, this is one line, of course - there ONE space before InetCpl, and another one between Process and the number 8. Pick a nice-looking icon, and you're done.

This works for all the browsers I have on my here machine, hope it'll help and come in handy to some of you out there.
