After a year in Baghdad with the Army, I have now returned. I have also changed duty stations. I left Fort Hood, TX and am now assigned to the Norfolk Naval Station. Imagine that, an Army guy on the Navy base. This will be interesting. I look forward to catching up on all the discussion posts that I have missed for the past year. I hope everyone is doing well and thanks for taking care of my family while I was away.

Welcome back
Glad to hear you back with your family. I can relate to the Army on a Navy base. I was Army stationed on an Air Force Base in Germany. Much better food. Good Luck. Thanks again.

It's hard to express our appreciation for the sacrifices you made serving our country and theirs. It seems the nay sayers are the only ones getting the attention from the press, but your service is deeply appreciated by those who know the level of sacrifice and commitment you have shown.
My son will be retiring in another year having served in both Gulf wars including 4 deployments. Keep up the good work and when someone tells you it isn't appreciated just remember they never served so they don't understand the price of their freedom.

Welcome Home!!
I always try to take a moment to thank those who volunteer to serve & protect our country. There are more of us out here, that truly appreciate what you do, than you might think. Thank you again.

Thank you everyone
I am overwhelmed and humbled. Your words are kind and comforting and keeps many of us going at times. I got off the plane for a refuel stop in Bangor Maine and in the terminal was a line of people who just showed up to welcome us back and say thank you. They shook every hand. They loaned us cell phones to call our families. It was an incredible experience. They get together and do that for every single military flight that stops there to refuel on the way to whatever final destination. I know that happens in other places and you hear about it, but until you actually experience it, you can not describe it to full justice. I love this country, I love the citizens that make up the population. I am willing to give my life to defend our way of life. Thank You ALL!!
