Checking Map Version
Go to Tools and then select Settings, then Map, and then Map Info.
Garmin StreetPilot c530, Mapsource
Checking other info on 255w
Tools...Settings....System..... About
Gives you :
Software Version mine is 6.20
Audio Version mine is 1.10
GPS SW Version mine is 2.00m
Basemap mine is NR 3.00
World Clock needles info there.

You need the Garmin Webupdater program from here:

How to update software
How you update your software to 6.20?
You will need to download a software called "Web Updater" from Garmin's site. After you install that software, you connect your Nuvi to the computer with a USB cable (can be purchased from most computer stores) then run the software.
Web Updater will display a list evrything that can be updated on your unit. You can then choose and select what you wish to update.
