- Covers Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will county (public and private schools as of 2007 Dept. of Education listing, 2953 entries ).
- Proximity was set to 300 ft and speed was set to 20 mph (Garmin gpx file).
- Do not be surprised if the alert will sound while passing churche since some of them run schools (even if there is no speed limit post).
- The Dept of Education lists some (but not all) pre-schools and kindergartens, as well (some are included in the file).
- Some schools are located on the corners. In most such cases the alert will be triggered only while traveling on the school’s mailing address street, even if the speed zones are posted on both neighboring streets.
- You can grab a nice icon and alert mp3 from poi-factory.com library.
- Do not blindly relay on you GPS unit. Pay attention to the route and drive safely.
