660 Traffic Question

2720 traffic alerts uses XM service and displays all traffic incidents on main map on your route if you are in route mode as well as the traffic delay in minutes. if you switch to traffic map like on Nuvi you can view all list of traffic jams

Since the format change I never even get the message to reroute. I drive into the jam and while I'm sitting I check the traffic and sure enough my parking lot is on the list.
I don't like the newer format, I don't think it functions like it used to. Still Garmin says it works exactly as it did and the change was only cosmetic.

I agree, traffic alerts is still very experimental, in order for this to work it has to have many preferences for users to choose from include when to detour depending on traffic severity and I am expecting the unit to be smart enough so it can tell you if the detour will actually save me time or just sitting in the traffic will do the same trick

It seems that Garmin forgot something in the latest update to the traffic system firmware.

After I upgraded mine, it no longer displays traffic alerts on the main navigation screen. I've tested it in both Atlanta (they should just have a permanent traffic alert for the entire metro area)and Jacksonville, FL.

I've written to Garmin about the problem and am awaiting a reply and a fix.

Frankly, with this functionality removed, the traffic system is pretty much useless.

The more complain Garmin receive, the faster they respond. there were actually a setting similar on 2730 to control which symbol to see on map and that was removed with the recent DST update.

I have read this complaint several times now that Garmin has put out V.7.0 software for the SP 27XX series. I have the 2730 and upgraded to v.7 but I don't have Navtraffic on it yet. Maybe I should wait until Garmin fixes this problem.

Or I could revert to an older version. Which version previous to v.7 did the traffic alert function like it used to, or the way everybody "Liked it" ?

I am sooo Frustrated with this Buggy Traffic version 7.0 that I had finally decided and downgraded to version 6.4. and re-adjusted my DST manually.

Don't know why on earth GARMIN would bundle an operating system patch like DST with a so called Buggy none working traffic enhancement version 7.0..?

I am so Frustrated with this Garmin version that does not display traffic accident or incidents, despite me sitting on the traffic jam for more than hours and, I can see it on the traffic screen...!.. Just because the accident happen to be on the other side of the highway.

Also lots of other traffic announcement bugs like traffic jam for 2229 miles

Please report your concerns to Garmin. The more noise we make the more attention we get, and a quicker response to resolve this issue.
