Garmin Mapsource16.6.02 Beta DON'T USE IT

I just tried the latest Mapsource beta. Don't use it.
The crashed my Mapsource, which I had to remove from my computer. I am still trying to get Garmin to recognize my use of Mapsource Versions 8 and 9, and they will not load.

I d/l it before i seen this, but so far i hadnt had a problem, the strangest thing is working with the rubber band, before the route would turn yellow then you could modify the route, but now it turns a brighter magina color with black lines on each side of the road and then you click on it, hadnt got to deep in to it tho. maybe some other things.

Why use those versions?

Why use such older versions and why a beta version? It seems to me that Garmin software is chancey enough on released versions and beta versions that carry the warning "it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk." is not worth fooling with (unless you just like to experiment).
The current released version of Mapsource is 6.15.11
If you want to get it up and running you could do the following:
Download the Garmin Training Center software:

Download the latest update to MapSource:
http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209
Install Training Center.
Install the MapSource update
Uninstall the Training Center (unless you want to use it).
