Nuvi 765T Autozoom "feature"

I noticed that on the highway the 765T zooms out, I am guessing based on speed being travelled. In the city (at lower speeds) it automatically zooms in again.

The issue I have is that although on the open highway, there are many rural residences (including my own) and streets along the highway, and in the "zoom out" mode these streets and even some intersections are not shown; nor are certain POIs.

I have tried to reset the "zoom threshold" as noted in these forums for other models, but that does not seem to work on my 765T - or I am not doing it properly.

Is it possible to adjust the "auto zoom" feature on the 765T, and if so, how?

I found 3 states of autozoom

I found 3 states of autozoom so far on the 265T:

Low speed up to 95kph - currently scaled at 80m
I can set this manually & it seems to stick.

High speed over 95 kph - currently scaled at 300m
I can set this manually & it seems to stick. Reverts to low speed if speed drops below 45kph.

On a Ramp - currently scaled at 200m
I have not tried resetting this as it seems a good setting. It also doesn't seem to care about speed; if it determines you are on a ramp it goes to the ramp zoom setting regardless of speed.

If I reset the 265T I lose the manual settings and it reverts to default, at least that it what it seems to do. Sometimes it has a mind of its own.

I, too

I, too, would like the option of AutoZoom on or off at my discretion. Should be a simple update if Garmin would do it.

That reminds me, my 465T needs a traffic update...

C-ya later!!!

I sent an email to Garmin

I would request any and all to do the same. Who knows, it might make a difference?!?!?!

I sent an email to Garmin and this is their response.

"Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

Currently there is no way to disable the auto-zoom feature. I have
definitely submitted this as a request to the appropriate department.
If it is implemented, it will be done so through a firmware update.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
