Viewing .csv files on maps

Can anyone suggest a utility that will allow you to view .csv files on relatively detailed maps--e.g., a Google Maps interface or the like? I don't need to edit them or the like, just get a good visualization.

Use EPE

Extra_POI_Editor, http://turboccc.wikispaces.com/Extra_POI_Editor , will load your csv and display each POI or the whole set of them on a Google Map.

Streets & Trips will display all your .CSV files

S&T 2010 can display multiple POI collections at once and you can turn sets on or off to reduce map clutter. You can import both CSV files and GPX files too.

You can download a free 60 day trial of Streets & Trips 2010 from here: http://streetsandtrips.spaces.live.com

The program retails for less than $40.

GPS Visualizer

I have used WWW.GPSVISUALIZER.COM to view some of my POI files. It seems to work OK, I've been happy with it.

Same thing for Extra Poi

Same thing for Extra Poi Editor.Doesn't work for mac yet but Turbocc may be working on it.

You could go to http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map_input?form=googleearth and convert a file to a kml file. Then go to Google Earth to open it up.On GPS Visualizer you will see upload your data file here on right.Down below you will see create kml file. You will need to put a header row in the file you upload to get it to work.

I almost made same mistake

This morning I came to this thread via the "unread posts" link and did not notice that I had strayed into(gasp)Apple territory.

I was about to suggest Extra Poi Editor but was called away from the computer. I was lucky that I did not have the chance to post then.

From now on I will try to check that little lable at the top that shows I have strayed away from my usual haunts.

This is what I use

POI Organizer for Mac. And it works great.

Thanks for the replies

Thanks; POI Organizer and GPS Visualizer have been working out for me.

Mac

POI Organizer works for me here... Going to check GPS Visualizer. For what it is worth, I have been using BBEdit to edit my poi csv files.

Would be nice if there is a googleearth/googlemap/GPX savvy converter for the mac out there. Right now I spend a lot of time going from one app to another just to get "mapalist" data onto the Garmin
