Junction view in Vancouver, BC

I was driving along Hwy 91A.. there were 2 places where junction view pop up.. and on my way back from US along 99
North..junction view pop up again just before exit 16 to 91A..way to go Garmin..and there were lane assist at a lot of intersections...

Missing Features

We Canucks sometimes feel left out when certain features aren't available like they are down in the States. Junction View, Lane Assist, Speed Alerts and real-time Traffic are only available in a very limited area up here. But it is my understanding that these features are based on the level of GIS detail collected and made available at the local level. And the same lack of features applies in many rural areas in the western States.

Having lived in a rural area for the past 30 years I accept a little less because of the wonderful place I chose. Heck, we got excited when they opened a Wal-Mart!

Sure people live in Vancouver. They are just too busy working so they can pay down their mortgage.

No Lane Assist.

I did a 1950 mile trip through big cities like Indianapolis, IN, Lexington, KY, Nashville TN, Memphis TN and Little Rock AR and haven't seen one Lane Assist on my Nuvi 765t.

Lane assist or junction view?

Are you confusing the two? Lane assist is the arrows at the top left of the screen. If there are multiple lanes available it shows them. Junction view s the picture of the interchange with a magenta routing arrow showing the path you should take. Lane Assist is much more common than JV.

Lane Assist.

I know Lane Assist. I kept an eye on the top left corner and never saw one. Just the regular turn arrow.
I drove some of the roads in simulator mode and never saw one either. On the other hand, I drove through Houston in simulator mode and saw all kinds of them.

Nashville

I thought I had seen lane assist (755T) driving thru Nashville, so I just simulated a southbound route on I24/I65; starting on I24 north of Nashville and ending on I65 south of the city. All of the major interchanges on this segment have lane assist (multiple arrows) on map 2010.40. However, there were no junction views in this route.

I came down on I-65 S and went on I-40 W.

None on that route.

I just simulated that route through Nashville, and you are correct ... no lane assists or JV's.

I'm glad.

It's not a faulty Nuvi.
