Excel workbook to manage & create POI's

Hi folks,
Thanks to everyone on this forum for their contributions. I finally got some cool POI's loaded into my new NUVI 350! Over the last few evenings I created an EXCEL workbook that helps to manage the POI's you accumulate. The workbook also automatically creates a csv formatted file in the 4-column format needed for the NUVI 350.

I've placed an updated copy (4/8/2007) of the workbook on my website (it's about 4mb), so if you are interested in checking it out, here it is:

http://home.comcast.net/~91winnie/POI.htm

4/11/07: Updated with better instructions for creating the POI file (with breaks that really work --HTML breaks).

Happy trails!

Can anyone help me?

I guess what I am trying to say that when I click on a POI it goes to Excel. I have no idea what to do with it.

Garmin - Loading POI files with POI Loader

POI Loader is software from Garmin that's used to load custom points of interest into many of their newer GPS models. You can download it (free) from the Garmin website from a link on this page:

http://www.garmin.com/products/poiloader/

Basic steps for loading POI files are as follows:

* download POI loader from Garmin's web site
* install POI loader on your computer
* open the .ZIP file(s) you downloaded from POI Factory and copy the .CSV file(s) inside to a new directory on your computer
* connect your GPS to your computer
* start POI Loader and select the directory that contains the .CSV file(s)
* follow the on-screen prompts (default choices should work just fine), and POI Loader will transfer the locations to your GPS

Also, be sure you download

Also, be sure you download the most current version of POI Loader at this link.
