4700 acquisition time
I "updated" to this firmware yesterday, hoping it would speed up the boot and acquisition time for my new 4700. Unfortunately it doesn't do a damned thing - it still takes at least 1 minute from boot to aquire sats, get through the boot procedures, and get to the map.
I also thought it MIGHT get rid of the default map view of full zoom - which is annoying in the extreme, having to zoom out 4 clicks to see more than 4 blocks at a time.
I wish I never bought this piece of crap. Should have gotten another 4040 like I have in my sons car. My advice to anyone even considering this model ... don't buy it!

I used to be a magellan fan, but I don't like their new models anymore. The last one I would use is 4250. I tried the roadmate 1475t, the position was 50~100 ft off. I have returned mine. hope the new firmware fixed this problem.

I've got a Maestro 4210 right now.. I've been using it for a couple of years.
It's adequate. I have no major complaints... but my next unit will be a Garmin. They have much better support than Magellan.
