Extra POI editor

Turboccc's extra poi editor should be able to open it. It can be found here:

Good luck!

Hi Knight,

When the POI loader uploads the CSV and GPX files from your computer to your 530C, it “creates” a GPI file, which is the aggregate of "all the files" you are uploading to your unit, into one single (GPI) file .

If you want to make any changes, or view any CSV or GPX files, you can do that "before" you upload those files to your unit.

Hope that helps...

Ok so is there a way to view and edit a GPI file or a way to bring it back to a CSV or GPX file.

I don't believe you can reverse direction from GPI to CSV

Once it is there, there isn't anything you can do. That is why you should keep your CSV or GPX file folder structure on your PC. Some people keep it on their memory cards.

Using GPSBabel I was able to reverse the process. From a .gpi file I extracted a .csv file.

You can copy the poi.gpi

You can copy the poi.gpi from your unit and place on other units if that would help.
