How to make a Tourguide POI file that announces each POI by name.

A Tourguide POI file is a POI file that has the text " Tourguide" in either the name of the folder, the file, or mp3 files associated with a POI file. The advantage of Tourguide POI files over regular POI files is that alerts are circular, rather than needing to be on the road on which you are traveling to get the announcement. I'm completing my RT-66 POI file that has a photo and description on each of over 180 RT-66 POI locations. But I don't want to include each POI on my routes, but have them announced when I approach them so I can decide while traveling if I want to stop or not. I'd like each to identify itself, as in "arriving at Midpoint Cafe." But without dedicated mp3 announcements, one for each POI, all I get is "ding-ding" and am expected to read the poorly illuminated white text on green background at the top of my Garmin, in the sunlight. So I've started recording "Arriving at [POI name]" for each POI.
Is there an easier way than individual mp3s for each POI?
Tour Guide Alerts.
I assume you are thinking about something like "text to speech" for POI alerts. I don't think there is anything like that so you are pretty much stuck with individual sound files.

the only way I've managed
The only way I've managed to get my unit to announce a POI using Text-to-Speech is to have it as a destination. When traveling, it just announces the standard alert message I have set - "There's an interesting place nearby. Want to go?"

Using car cradle to capture voices.
I've got a Garmin A/C to 12v socket with which my car cradle can be powered. I'v e plugged an audio cord into the cradle and into the line-in of my PC. While running sound capture software, I'll turn the GPSr off, Set Loc. near each POI, then GO to that POI. Karen will announce "Arriving at [POI name]" that I'll save on my PC as [POI name] Tourguide.mp3 at 64kps mono and most sounds are 10-15Kb. I was hoping to find a shortcut to the 5-6 hours this is going to take. Oh well, when I'm done, I'll have a nice RT-66 Tourguide to use and share (if I can get Miss POI to accept a .gpi file.) I have to distribute it as an output file from POI Loader, as the photos and sounds are external to a gpx file.

PS a_user, when I stand on my head, your tag reads resu_a. Shouldn't that be your tag with the upside down font?

Recording.
Dave, you can use your same approach without using simulation mode to navigate to each location. Use Turboccc's TTS Voice Editor program. Just temporarily change the "Please Drive to highlighted route" message to say whatever you want to record, then navigate to anywhere and capture the sound output. When you are finished just restore the original voice file.

no, it's upside down

It's like it was hinged on the bottom and fell over.

Just want to make sure you did not have a typo. The character string "TourGuide" must appear. Note that the "T" and the "G" are both capitals and the characters have no internal "spaces"
