While driving across that vast state last week it seemed there was a marked enforcement vehicle with flashing lights and a car/truck pulled over every place the Texas Speed Trap POI sounded its alert. (And other places as well.)
As I have come to find out,(don't ask how) Texas has a lot of jurisdictions and each has a Judge or Justice of the Peace who likes monetary donations. So just because Texas doesn't have speed cameras don't conclude it gets less than its generous share of contributors.
Oh, by the way, if you drive with your cruise control on, don't glance down to give GPS operational guidance to another--even if they ask politely--while passing signs that indicate a significant drop in the speed limit.
