which one is better Garmin 255W or 255WT

The only difference between these two model designations would be that the 255WT includes a lifetime traffic receiver in the package, where a 255W does not.

However Garmin's web site does not mention a 'T' version of the 255W, just that the 265WT includes traffic in the box (and has a Bluetooth speakerphone as well) where the 255W includes neither - all for the same MSRP according to Garmin's web site.

Garmin's decomposable model numbering system supports the concept of a 255WT and there is a lot of custom packaging going on, so the combination is not precluded. So I checked.

According to the internet, Bestbuy will sell you a 255WT for $129.99. The 265WT would cost $10 more (and free shipping) from Amazon.

If this is the series you want, then I would personally spring for the extra $10 and get the speakerphone, but that's just me.

Go for the traffic at $10 more you have next to nothing to loose plus you get bluetooth

The Garmin 255WT is an exclusive with Best Buy. Like everyone else says, the T designates Traffic. If you want Bluetooth, which a lot of people say is poor or really unnecessary, you could go for the 265WT.

I got the 255WT during Black Friday at BB and I must say, it has everything I need at a low price.

Guys i just bought 255WT. Its amazing. Now you dont have to pay for traffic subscription as long as the life of device. I read reviews of 265WT. Its another choice. But so many comments says it has poor speaker quality when you use bluetooth. so I choose 255WT !!! Just have to update now with new maps and custom POI.

The 255WT and 255W were both selling for the same price at Best Buy, so obviously I chose the WT. And since I've been reading bad reviews about the traffic, I sold the traffic cord and bought a regular one. So it's like I paid $80 out of pocket for a 255W!
