Missing Data Rest Area Combined File ?

On the Garmin 855 only a few of the rest areas are shown from the file. Those few present are 2200 miles from my current location. The device has 1.5 MB of memory available after loading the file. Why doesn't all of the rest stops in the file appear on the Garmin?

Extra's

I just tried it on my new 855 and it is working correctly with the Rest Areas Combined file. Two things I can think of ... 1) Are you looking for them in Extras - Custom POI's? That is where they will be, not in the supplied Points of Interest. 2) Are you sure your current location is locked in?

Missing Data Rest Area Combined File ?

It will only show the closest 50 around your location. If you want to check for others run a trip in simulator and it will show the ones along the route you set. Have fun Merry Christmas

Also try MapSource

If you want an easy way to see them all at once and/or plan a route around them, convert them to GPX and view them in MapSource (or in ExtraPOI Editor or GeePeeEx to just view all at once).

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.

I noticed you are a newcomer and perhaps you missed some of the essentials if you are also new the nüvi and custom POI. As noted above, you were looking for the rest areas under Extras on the nüvi, right???

Also check out the FAQ here, particularly:

Another great place to learn lots of cool stuff is:

Just don't try to digest it all in one sitting.

Success

Earlier in the day the file was loaded to the Garmin and removed because not all of the file appeared to transfer. A recent attempt was successful and all apears to be normal. I have absolutely no idea why it worked this time.

I'm glad it worked for you.

I'm glad it worked for you. Sometimes things get quirky.
