NUVI 1490T won't start up

After checking through the threads using the search function, I haven't found anything specifically related to this problem (only the 7xx series).
Out of nowhere, all of a sudden my 6-month old 1490T won't start up. Conditions:
1. Used it tonight about 4 hours ago--everything worked fine.
2. Tried to turn it on using the USB-connected cord to my PC.
3. 1490T began startup sequence, but after it goes through the "loading maps" screen, the copyright message, it blacks out and attempts to restart again, repeating the entire cycle all over.
I've also tried to start it simply by holding down the on button without being connected to anything and the same results occur.
Any similar experiences by anyone else? Thanks in advance for any help.
