Why don't the addresses show up for the downloaded files?

I've downloaded some POI's that I believe will be very helpful but when I check them on my Garmin nuvi 205W, the addresses and or phone numbers do not show up. I've downloaded the csv files and they do show the name of the business and how many miles to that destination but do not show the addresses or phone numbers.
I've tried to download the gpx files but the POI loader program on my Mac does not recognize them.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

Addresses

Load the CSV files into a text editor and check to see if phone numbers and address are included in the file. A lot of CSV files contain just basic information. GPX files usually have more info but I can't answer your question as to why the POI Loader doesn't recognize them. Does it recognize ANY GPX files?

Jack j

press the 'more' button

then you see the addresses and phone #'s? I notice the same thing.

Display Differences

See this FAQ regarding some display differences:
http://www.poi-factory.com/node/21274

For example, if you want the address on the 'list' screen then you might want to convert the csv to gpx.

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.

There are reports from other Mac users that the MAC OS or Browser is putting XML as the file extension. Rest Areas.GPX downloaded would be stored as Rest Areas.GPX.XML.

"More" button

Thanks, I don't know how I missed that (more button) but I guess I'm used to my other Garmin showing the address in quotes for some POI's that I've loaded in the past on my C330. I may also look at fine tuning the csv files in a text editor. Maybe this will show a little more.
Thanks again.

rather than play with CSV files

Rather than play around with trying to fine tune CSV files, download Turboccc's Extra POI Editor and use it to convert the files to GPX format. GPX files always display 1 line of the address when you bring up on the search screen. I reformat a lot of my CSV files to show the Interstate exit number as the address. Works great when you are wondering which exit you take to get to the place. The other advantage is you can guesstimate how far it will be to the right exit.
