Beware of traffic cameras.

Traffic Camera

A man was driving when he saw the flash of a traffic camera. He figured that his picture had been taken for exceeding the limit, even though he knew that he was not speeding... Just to be sure, he went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed.
Now he began to think that this was quite funny, so he drove even slower as he passed the area again, but the traffic camera again flashed. He tried a fourth time with the same result. He did this a fifth time and was now laughing when the camera flashed as he rolled past, this time at a snail's pace...

Two weeks later, he got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat belt.

You can't fix stupid.

LOL!

I'm glad I have a metallized windshield, and tinted windows. It's hard to see inside at the best of times!

(Disclaimer - I wear seat belts at all times. All testing done by a professional driver, do not attempt this at home!)

Thanks lizlovesmustangs. It was only a joke, not to be taken seriously. Fun to "not be serious" once and a while.

I'm not sure how those

I'm not sure how those redlight camera work, but many times I saw those camera flashes even when no one run the redlight. Has anyone notice it?

I think they are just very

I think they are just very sensitive to motion and that causes them to fire.

Some seem to be combined red light/speed cams

I have seen this happen a one intersection in paticular when clearly no one ran the light cause it was still green. Can only assume it nailed them for speeding. The intersection is right before you enter a state hiway where the speed limit goes from 35 to 60. Guess people were in a hurry to get up to 60.

Enjoyed

Seeing a lot

of aging cams. Maybe they're breaking down to the point that they go off unexpectedly?

I think they take a photo when the light turns red to prove whether or not a vehicle is in the intersection when the light turns red. If you cross the line, it shoots another photo showing you now in the intersection.

I-PASS cameras in IL

I was looking at my online Illinois I-PASS account. It shows every toll booth I went through. I noticed a couple tolls registered as VTOLL instead of just TOLL. When I investigated, the site explains that when the IPASS does not register, they use a camera picture and grab the license plate to bill the charge later. Why bother with the transponders in the first place if they can just read your license plate and bill you from that?

TOLLtags in Texas

There are several toll roads in central Texas that do the same thing. If you don't have a toll tag or if it didn't read your toll tag, they take a picture of your license plate and mail you a bill.

We have a drawback with our toll tag system. You can't transfer a toll tag between vehicles. The state says that you must register the toll tag with only one car, it is tied to the license plate for the vehicle.

I figure it is cost effective if they deduct money from the electronic toll tag.

Thats funny
