It wss suggested that I start a new thread for a diner list POI -- the old-fashioned diners where you can get anything to eat at any time day or night. I am not sophisticated enough to know how to do this so any help would be appreciated.

Not sure if you've done this already, but if you search diners (click on the POI tab in the search tool) or "mom & pop", a number of diner pois will show up. Are these not what you are thinking of? Maybe just a file made up of diners that are open 24 hrs is what you're thinking of?
