Garmin XT corruption?

so recently, i was trying to see if my xt (in nokia) worked on a plane, but i kept having trouble getting it to lock satellites (i was sitting aisle seat). i kept turning off on, etc. and when i landed, about 30 mins of using the gps, i later found that i couldn't open xt. it would show the garmin splash screen, then kick me out. i tried uninstall, then reinstall, but no workie. i had to format, then copy only basic files, then install xt to get it to work again. anyone else have this problem? not sure if it was corruption of my sd card, because some of my other programs on the sd card wasn't working properly later either. it's likey some stupid bug w/ nokia...but just seeing if anyone else has had the prob.
