MSN Direct service only available til January 1, 2012

I found MSN traffic useless and all the other junk of little value.

MSN traffic was generally way behind radio reporting, or clueless...or worse using outdated info to reroute when reroute was the worst possible choice.

My 780 without MSN is just fine...I actually looked forward to the 3 month free subscription to end.

Schwert, I agree. The MSN traffic is useless and the rest was junk. Even the gas prices weren't correct.

I bought a 2595LMT about 2 weeks ago and have been runing it next to my 680 at the same time to compare the traffic features. Very different features and performance indeed. Both seem to have their strengths andweaknesses. Right now, I'd have to say I like the MSN traffic better but admittedly part of that is the interface and how easily I can pull up the information I use all the time. Getting used to the ads on the 2595....

Traffic on my 3760T is much better than what I have with MSN on my 660.

It is not January 1st yet and the service on my device is already closed.

Sue them for not fulfilling their contract.

Wish it wasn't going. I have mentioned here before that I have an MSN Direct stand alone home weather station that now is only good for indoor readings - essentially useless.

You serve me well. But now I use GTM 50 with TMC. Because Microsoft didn't keep its promise.

They dropped office live small business for office365. Everyone who had websites with MS lost them. There was no warning. I have to rebuild my Boy Scout site from scratch.

Mine says it is still "active", although I am not receiving the traffic or weather, I am receiving the "movie" info and "gas prices". Maybe there is a delay with part of the subscription. Shouldn't mine say "Inactive" when I bring up the subscription?

I sold off the MSN traffic receiver that came with my 885T back in October 2009 for $70 after I received notice of the end of service date from MSN Direct.

Took that money and bought a lifetime FM Clear Channel receiver for $60 back then to use with the 885T.

The subscription will remain 'active' forever, but you will stop receving data, since they will stop sending it.

I agree, however, that does not qualify FM traffic to be superior. This too needs lots of work.

Personally, I have never seen any traffic subscription that was worth 10 cent. At least in the Phoenix area, they're usless as tits on a boar hog.

Good ole fashion supply and demand. If you don't meet them, out the door you are.

I agree. I have not been even slightly impressed with any traffic service to date.

It has a LONG way to go before I'd rely on it.
