minor update

While this info is note worthy. Most people do not need to update unless they have myDashboard-related issues.

Unless you are the lead sled dog, the view never changes. I is retard... every day is Saturday! I still use the Garmin 3590 LMT even tho I upgraded to the Garmin 61 LMT. Bigger screen is not always better in my opinion.

Flip4Mac conflict

Does the new plug-in fix the incompatibility with the Flip4Mac plug-in?

Communicator Apps

For those unfamiliar with Garmin Communicator, there are lots of online aps available. Some only work if your gps has the ability to track your movements. You'll find most listed here: http://developer.garmin.com/web-device/garmin-communicator-p...

I went to use google maps the other day and it told me to update. It would not work until I updated to the newest communicator.

What about Bing maps

I've been able to get the Bing maps to send info via my MSN Direct account to my Nuvi 885T. Do I need this update?

Thanks

I wish Garmin was as efficient about notifyng users about updates as POI Factory is.

As mentioned

As mentioned in the second post above, this update is for myDashboard related issues. If your version of Communicator is working fine then you can probably skip this one.

Thanks for the update.

This may be true but

if you are using Snow Leopard and also using 64 bit Safari, you also need to upgrade.

Then again, I guess My Dashboard would not be working so the statement you only need to upgrade if you are having My Dashboard problems could be true. smile

It's 3 more days on Communicator 2.8.3. Anyone have any more comments on changes in 2.8.3? My 2.8.2 seems to be working, any reason to upgrade?

Hidden preferences on the Mac--

I've been fighting hidden preferences issues with another program for a few days. Finally found its hidden files (using a different name!) and once they were snuffed out, things worked!

One of the keys to this kind of thing is to create a new user and see if the problem replicates with the new user -- if id goes away, you've got crud hiding somewhere!
