How to add POI to an existing POI on your Nuvi

I have quite a lot of POIs saved up on my SD card. The problem is that I don't wish to go through the hassle of reloading them all again.

Is there a way or an app out there that can just add POI to my collection on my Nuvi without having it be saved as a waypoint?

Thanks

"Renaming" Method

I understand what you are looking to do. Probably the closest your going to get to what you want is to use the renaming method.

There are several topics on the subject if you search, but start with reading this topic. It has links to other related topics.

POI Loader Works Well for most things, fast too

When you talk about adding a POI, do you mean like an additional Starbucks store to a POI group of Starbucks or adding just another folder with many POI in it?

Good link, but still lots of questions not answered

Actually, I'd like to do both.

Gary, thanks for the link; however, it only talks about the advantages of renaming, it doesnt mention on how to go about transferring the POIs to the Nuvi's SD card vs internal memory and what do since he Nuvi recoginizes only one .gpi file at a time.. The Nuvi transfers the poi.gpi file from your SD card to it's internal memory. I also fail to see the advantages of creating multiple .gpi files since you have to transfer them one by one by POI Loader if you want to have one file folder for each.

And what about the current POIs stored in internal memory? What happens then? I just renamed it on my Nuvi drive but it still shows up.

Many, Several, Lots of .gpi files

The Nuvi will recognize several xxx.gpi files as long as they each have a unique name. Such as
Starbuck.gpi
Walmart.gpi
BestBuy.gpi
etc, etc, etc.gpi

The way to do this is to use PoiLoader to load each poi file individually. Before loading the second poi file while the Nuvi is still attached to the pc in mass storage mode rename the poi.gpi file to something-else.gpi. Now load the second poi file and rename it the same way as the first.

Walla---- When done you will have multiple .gpi files loaded and now all you have to do to edit/add/delete a individual poi is to do it on the pc then load it to your Nuvi with PoiLoader then delete the old .gpi file on the Nuvi an rename the new poi.gpi file to the named file you just deleted
