How do I remove old POI details from Nuvi 670

In the past I have created a number of different categories containing custom POI details, either added by downloading files from this site or by using the web based POI creators. However when I use the Garmin POILoader, it appears to add to the existing categories on the Nuvi, how do I remove them all and start again ?

I normally have the POILOader create the new POI file on the SDCard, then have it updated on the Nuvi next time it gets switched on.

On the SDCard I have a file called "\Garmin\POI\POI.GPI" and this is replicated on the Nuvi 670 in "\Garmin\POI\POI.GPI" along with all the saftey camera files.

Thanks in Advance
Sam

Just set your files back up

Just set your files back up on the computer with the categories you want. Then run poiloader and it will overwrite the existing files.
The gpi files are created to the unit or sd card from poiloader when you load the gpx or csv files from the computer.

Sam, just delete everything in the \Garmin\POI folder ON THE UNIIT. When you load a new selection of POI files onto the SD card, the existing POI.gpi file on the card will be overwritten -- no need to delete it first, unless you are not going to load anything.

There should be no POI files (csv or gpx) on either the card or the unit, unless you just want to have them for use when a guest on someone else's computer when traveling.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.
