Speaking of Y2K...I had contacted the Zippo lighter people before the "big event" with a commercial idea. I told them that they could do a Y2K commercial with the NYC ball countdown as the backdrop and at the moment that the time changed to the new year, all the lights would go out. At that moment people would begin getting their lighters out and lighting them until the whole place was lit up. They would then declare the Zippo lighters as Y2K ready.
They liked the idea but said that they really didn't have a budget to do it.
