nuvi775t Disappointment in Details & Zoom

I just got a nuvi 775t and I also have a 780.

I have several times that the details are not displayed anywhere near the same on the 7x5 series compared to the 7x0. The details show at nearly all the closer zoom levels on the 780. PLUS, I can't zoom in to the same level on the 775 ie: I can zoom into the 80ft scale on the 780 but on only to 120ft on the 775.

I guess it's a case of "Ignorance is Bliss... but I DO know the difference and so I am not Blissful... far from it.

I know, I know... the 7x5 units have added some other features like free traffic 3D buildings etc... but why does Garmin have to remove features to add new ones ?

I want my details back !!!! I want my zoom levels back !!!!

I'm going to send off an email to Garmin about my opinion... maybe they will pay attention.

after overzooom (200ft?) the

after overzooom (200ft?) the unit is just guessing anyway.

The only way Garmin will pay attention is if you speak with your wallet. Return the 775T. If you keep the 775T you are just validating Garmin's new business philosophy which is "Push out crappy new models and hope the suckers buy them".

Pratzert, I agree with GG. And don't forget to let Garmin know you don't like that there are issues that have been hanging for over a year (like the mp3 alerts and mp3 music conflict).

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

I agree as well. I mentioned in another thread that I will not be purchasing any more Garmin units until one is released that restores the map detail and common GPS features that they have consistently been removing (perhaps hoping users will not notice). Nothing that Garmin has on the table (namely the 1xxx series) has anything worth purchasing (at least to me) a new unit for. They continue to remove map detail and now street name detail to the point of making even map panning mode useless. What's the point of having a map on the GPS screen if no street names are displayed? Continuing with this ideology, there soon will not even be a map shown on the screen.

I am also quite weary of beta testing new units along with buggy firmware for Garmin as well. The new 1xxx series is no exception as far as releasing new units too soon. And key "new" features unique to the 1xxx series such as "enhanced Pedestrian mode" used in conjunction with cityXplorer maps are buggy as well and don't work as advertised according to -many- user reports I have read.

For me personally, my 750, 760 and 765 units work just fine and "upgrading" to anything else (as it stands now) would actually be a downgrade...why on earth should I do that? Unless Garmin shows me something impressive (rather than depressive), I am done with this nonsense.

This zoom "feature" was my deciding factor to get 780

I am so glad I read quite a bit here before ordering my Nuvi. After semi-sorting out all the model confusion I was tempted to order the 775...but finding the lack of detail in some of the zoom settings made my decision to order the 780.

Garmin seems to have way too many models in my view with an odd assortment of features/bugs.
