Does anyone have any experience with a GPS for tracking dogs? If so, then it would be good to get your input on brands and reliability. Thank you in advance for your information.
No, but I did see an add for a camera to put on their colar to see where they had been.
Garmin makes a GPS for dogs ,from what I have read most everyone loves it. If you want to read more go to UKCdogs.com then community ,then message board ,then coonhounds, there is usually comments about how they work.
Take a look at the demo:
What is the intended usage? Trying to catch an untrained dog or follow hunting dogs?
the intent is to be able to find your dogs and find your way back to where you started, could be bear hunting, pheasant hunting or anything that involves being in strange places or waaaay off road.
Can't say I've used their stuff myself, but they come well recommended:
What would the difference be?
A totally useless dog or a reason to get out of the house, "honey the dog is getting antsy, I have to take em' huntin'".
Range for starters. You need more range to find a lost dog than you need for tracking hunting dogs.
A hunting dog will return apon a given audible signal.
