City Speed Limits

I am trying to find a website that could possibly give me speed limits for streets within a city. I have gone to the city websites and none of them have any information on speed limits.

If you could direct me to some information, I'd appreciate it!

What state, what city? Most

What state, what city? Most states and cities have pretty uniform speed limits. 25 in residential and business, probably 35 in the more open areas.

I don't think you will find a sight that would list all, you would have to go to the state sight and see what the statewide limits are.

Speed limits...

In this case it's Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco Washington (State)... I am looking for street by street speed limits. I have found a little information...

I found a map of Richland which shows the different types of streets, so I need to get in touch with a City engineer and find out if the speeds co-inside with the map that I found... The map is color coded for Major streets, minor streets, etc...

Thanks

the Garmin Navteq maps do a pretty good job there

The 7xx and 2x5 nuvis provide speed limits on the main navigating screen, and they are generally pretty good. It's rather neat to be driving past a speed limit sign (different from the previous limit) and watch the display change over to the nre speed limit.

Sometimes the actual limits will be different from the Garmin display, but not all that often. For the cases that differ, the posted limit is usually a bit lower (probably a newly changed limit) or else the Garmin did not display any limit for that section of road.

you can always try google

you can always try google streetview. see if you can see the speed limit signs as you 'fly' down the road

Would be nice

It would be nice if there were such a site. The info must be out there, because navigation systems use that info to calculate your arrival time.

interesting. if the 2x5

interesting. if the 2x5 series has speed data this must be in the addons folder of your CN install dvd/download

wonder if that can be read as a spreadsheet or something

Good idea!

That is a really good idea! I will have to try it, although it will take some time to do it smile

Pretty good on major routes, but not in cities

I do like this and also think it is neat when you change right at the sign. But, when driving in many of the cities and towns around me (Hershey, PA), my screen is blank. I tend to only get the posted speed limit displayed when on larger roads, highways, or interstates.
