I downloaded a file I named Walmart.CSV along with an icon which I named Walmart.Bmp, both downloaded from this site into a common folder.
Using POI loader I then downloaded the contents to my NUVI 660. (Or at least thought I did.)
The Walmart list arrived okay but the icons do not appear.
Where am I going wrong?
Thank you in advance.
Jim
Are you near a Wal-Mart?
Are you near a Wal-Mart and is your unit set to an approximate 300 foot distance?
The icon file is included in the GPI file and does not appear in the unit.

You may also need to adjust your zoom settings so that the icons are displayed.
Check the filenames and extensions
For good measure, try renaming the file names and extensions using only lowercase letters. maybe there's something POI loader doesn't like about the filenames.
Icons
I tried all of these suggestions and still no icons

The biggest problems with
The biggest problems with the alerts and icons not working are the files not being named the same except for extensions and having double extensions. Double-check each of them. The best way to prevent double extensions is to go to your folder options in the control panel and click view then find hide extensions for known file types and remove the check mark. Click ok.

You won't see an icon file on the gps -- the icons are within the gpi file. Just try this; pick a location under Extras/Custom-POIs and then choose "Show Map" instead of "Go". Tell us whether the icon is the default grey dot, or your custom icon.
