Is MSN worth the cost?

Was looking at MSN, and was wondering if it was worth the cost?

MSN cost

For me, my driving, and areas, the answer was no. I currently have navteq lifetime. I borrowed a friends msn charger to give that a try. I liked the larger area and the fuel prices. None of the other MSN features I would personally use. When I think about the cost of the MSN receiver (+/- $110) and then the cost of the lifetime subscription (+/- $100) it was not worth it for me. I might upgrade to the clearchannel lifetime for $60

any of those traffic

any of those traffic packages are only worth it if you do a lot of driving on the interstate near major cities. I did see that many are selling gps units with lifetime traffic now. Probably would go with that one.

It really does depend on

It really does depend on your need or at least need for toys.... I like the fuel cost list, it has been quite accurate and though certainly not saving me a fortune, it does help save some money.

The Radar is a very nice feature. There have been some that say it does not update enough, not my finding however. It certainly gives you a very good idea of what to expect, visually.

Traffic will depend on your area. In the Tampa FL area, it is very very good. In the Hartford CT area, it is good, but does not always get some of the traffic jams.

While the list of events in your area is just ok, I can say it did list a concert I did not know about happening about 65 miles away and I did buy tickets after seeing it.

Avoidance.

On a recent trip through Atlanta, there was a red traffic condition (Navteq) on the northbound route. I had the traffic avoidance enabled and decided to take the suggested detour. I have no way to know for sure, but I think the detour through downtown Atlanta might have been worse than the interstate congestion the detour was avoiding.
