How does it work just the weight of it holds it in place with a non slide surface or something?

The base is weighted with sand, and there's a rubber pad on the bottom that prevents it from sliding.

These Garmin mounts are the absolute best mounts, bar none.

If you haven't tried you're missing out.

You can use the Garmin bean bag mount for Radar. I just put a non slip pad that they sell @ a auto store for about 5.00, put that on top then the radar and it does not move.

I bought mine in Best Buy, for like 15 bucks. I really thought it wasn't going to be good. But, I have to admit, it is great!!!! Does not slip or slide on dashboard at all!!! Simply amazing!!!

Hmmm have to keep an eye out for one sometime then.

I broke down and bought one at BB. Have to agree with everyone else it is great. I never needed one before, as my 99 merc had a panavise mount. There aren't that many places to install a permanent mount in the "new" 91 accord wagon (only had 83,450). It sits nicely on the console out of the sun.

Bought this a year ago and have been very happy with it. Would like to pick up another for an anticipated Garmin buy - will look for another opportunity at this price.
