Hello from DFW - Moved from RI w/c330

Hello:

Just wanted to say hello to the group. My wife and I moved to the DFW area in January from Rhode Island due to a job transfer. We actually drove out here twice...once in my vehicle and then once again in hers once the house in RI sold. We used a Garmin c330 to get here the first time, and we liked it so much, we picked up a second c330 for her car for the second trip out.

I ran into a problem with my c330 during our first trip out here. The voice stopped working, and the volume dial, while it would spin to its stops, wouldn't bring up the yellow indicator on the screen. I had a heck of a time getting it fixed (replaced) at Garmin since I neglected to register it with them and lost the receipt in the move. In the end, I ended up scanning a copy of my bank statement showing the dollar amount I spent at WalMart, which they trusted in me enough to "prove" that it was the purchase of the unit. After that, I sent it in for repair and was sent a new or refurbished unit.

I immediately registered the second unit with Garmin!!

Anyhow, looking forward to becoming an active member here and sharing any tips, info etc. about the c330.
