Garmin 250w

Are there any hints or tricks or special things on a 250W?

other than

the slide switch on the top that turns it on and off?

Or did you have something else in mind?

A lot of what is discussed here works for many Garmin models, my 260W included.

I think the special thing

I think the special thing about it is that you did not pay a fortune for it and it will probably be all you will ever need in terms of a GPS. I have a Nuvi 350 and it is wonderful. All the newer units have more bells and whistles however, I need a basic GPS to get me from point A to B. My 350 does that very well and so will your 250W. Enjoy it, soon soon you won't be able to travel without it.

Also, you can go to GPSmagazine.com and look at the buyers guide to see all the features at a glance.

250W is a fantastic little

250W is a fantastic little unit, had one for a couple of years and only upgraded to a 255W recently as i wished to have text to speech street names. For myself, i like my GPS to do just that.....don't need to be a do all as too many sacrifices get made. So bluetooth i don't need as the speakers are not loud enough anyway, and some others features may be nice so while value added for some i refer simpler is better.

Hang onto that 250W of yours, to me a bit better quality that the ones that Garmin is putting out now. I like the screen better over the flat matt finish of the new screens, also like the speaker a little better as well.

Cheers.

250W Owner

I have had the 250W for a couple of years and love it. It works much better than the built-in GPS in my Pilot. We have used it on our travels and it works great. It gets me from Point A to B.

I've had my 250W for a few

I've had my 250W for a few years now too and still love it. It would be nice to hear the street names, but I always have it muted so it's not a big deal.

I just look at the map when driving as the voice is annoying and I'd rather listen to music.

My 265 is working fine, Wish

My 265 is working fine, Wish Garmin would put the radar on my 780 though.

The weather function helps when on travel, but it is sometimes slow or even not there, depends on where you physically are and if the coverage is there. Recently in Lexington KY and there was NO coverage.
