Timed Proximity Alerts?

Is it possible to create timed proximity alerts?

Couple of applications:

Warn about school zones only when they are in effect.

Provide an alert when you are close to a Sonic Drive in between 2 and 4 local time (happy hour 1/2 price drinks mrgreen )

I'm sure there are other applications.

Thanks,
Norm

Don't think so.

Good thought. I can think of

Good thought. I can think of one way it could partially work. Have all 24hr alerts as regular alerts. Have alerts that occur only days as a TourGuide alert. Turn off the TourGuide alerts at night. (or of course have TourGuide be your night only alerts and turned on nights)

Or, don't have any 24hr alerts, make them day or night and make them regular for days and TourGuide for nights and turn off the one not needed at the time. Problem is you have turn them on and off....

Expanding on thought

You could also have different SD cards made up of different combinations of POIs. So, for example, your Sonic could be included on one (2-4PM) SD card with alerts. Only to be inserted during those hours!

I think you are better off

I think you are better off just leaving them in all the time.

Around here, many school zones speed limits are in effect at all time anyway, even during the summer when school is out.

Excellent idea.

Good thinking but too much work to do...

.

Or you could have sound

Or you could have sound files attached to the alert. If it says "School zone ahead" and it's pitch black outside then you probably don't have to worry. wink
