Active members

Many of the familiar faces at POI Factory now have a windmill icon next to their name. Active member icons identify people who've been regular contributors over the last few weeks.

To be recognized as an active member, all you need to do is post a message or upload a file in at least 3 of the last 5 weeks.

This week's active members include:

ROBERT F. BREUNING
raybonz
YodaMojo
tracylaud83
dcgunman
scooter2
galladanb

MaryAnn and I really appreciate the extra support this group has given to get the discussion forums and file upload sections established, and we look forward to seeing others join us as the POI Factory grows.

Thank u for all the work and

Thank u for all the work and help. This is the best site on the internet. period

progress

Since I've found this site it's amazing all the progress that's happened here. POI Factory has grown by leaps and bounds. With a site that's this popular perhaps the major gps manufacturers may even let us demo their newest products and we could provide reviews etc. Now that I think of it a review section would be pretty cool! One thing I do wonder about is when this site was established and who are the 1st members etc. JM or Maryann do you have that info?

Thanx,
Ray

Just a little background on

Just a little background on Jon and I.
We met 14 years ago and have been married now for 11 years. We have two daughters, ages 3 and 5.

This site is something that we started back in August and we added the forums in September.
It is really incredible that in just that time we have such an awesome website.

I can't begin to tell everyone how proud I am of Jon, he has taken this idea of a gps community and has made it a reality.

This website is not just a hobby for us, for both of us it is a full time job. We don't have jobs outside of this website.

The last few weeks Jon has been working late into the early morning figuring out all this programing stuff. ( I am glad that he is the technical one)

We are the full staff here at the poi factory, and we are really excited about the future of this website and the friendships that we are building here.

When I sit and think about our future I see POI Factory conventions where we all get together for a few days and people becoming lifetime friends that visit each other on vacation.
Yes there is going to be tons of growth in the future of this website. Jon and I really love our jobs.

Ray and Robert B are two of our first active members, if you look at a persons profile it will tell you how long someone has been a member. I have been here for 7 weeks:)

Thanks JM n Miss Poi.
Been MIA for the last 3 days as I was getting my house fumigated. At the mother in laws for one night and out in the desert again for the 2nd night. The POI's came in handy as I needed to find a Starbucks close by the mother in laws.

I luv this website...

In fact, I even told an in-law about it, and we usually don't get along all that well.

So, I also run a website, www.midtnhhr.net, but I don't see how you can make a living at this.

Do you eat spam and tuna all the time? do ya have kids?
Do ya live in a cardboard house??? How do ya pay for the broadband access?????????????

If you want to send me your answers by e-mail that is fine, and I'm not knocking ya, just curious, because I too want to work at home, be self employeed, eat and have fun....

Just like you guys... SO, come on, share with us...

Yea, and a pic of Jon would too cool as well...
And is your pic recent? You look terrific!!!!!

getting started

We planned ahead, minimized our living expenses, and put away some savings to help get things started. Our biggest change was to relocate from Pennsylvania to Idaho, where the cost of living is lower.

Living modestly to keep expenses low is a key part of our plan, but we do budget for fruits and vegetables to stay healthy grin

If we get some nice weather, I may venture outside to have my picture taken. Miss poi's pic was taken about a month ago (when it was a little warmer).

JM

what a great website!

I'm pretty new to the gps and poi world but I love it already. I have a Nuvi 360 and I love it, love it, love it!

Thanks for such a great resource!

u know, JM and Miss Poi, the information and the points of interest(POI), we get from this site r priceless. the unique aspect of this site is the closness and the fellowship of the users. i saw ur story of how u planed to make this work, and i, as part of the family, will do all i can make it so. keep us informed of ur needs and by the way "family", look at the "red light cameras" about donations.
