I bought a Nuvi 760 at the end of Dec 2008. It came with a 3 month trial subscription to traffic report. The trial period ended in March 2009. Traffic report stopped working as expected and I didn't renew it.
Something strange happened today as I was driving home. I noticed there was a yellow diamond traffic report icon with a number in it (indicating delay time). I touched the icon and I saw traffic report as if the subscription is still active. The report was accurate too. There was heavy traffic exactly in the highlighted area on the map.
Malfunction? Whatever it is, it's a good one. I'd be happy if this continues to work indefinitely 
You may want to add lifetime traffic subscription.
The lifetime traffic subscription is not very expensive. I think I paid $49.99 last year.

You'll find this happening periodically on expired traffic subscriptions. You'll get a few very sporadic traffic reports, maybe to "remind" you that you have a traffic receiver. They won't be anywhere near the quantity of what is normally reported and will usually tend to be some distance away and not of any real use.

You're right. I don't think it'll work indefinitely. Traffic alert stopped working the next day. Oh well... it's not a "must have" feature for me anyway.
