Proximity Alert

Why is it that I dont get an alert when I am driving by Wal-Mart and Shoprite? I have those POI on my 260W. I checked for the proximity alert box but its not on my Nuvi Setting menu.
Is it a proximity alert?
When you installed the POI on your GPSr did you make it a proximity alert? That is not the default. You have to manually install the POI's then click on the radio button for Proximity Alert, then enter the distance in feet that you want the alert.

Oh thank you.It was automatic install. I thought it would have a default setting. Now I have to it again
