Navteq today launched a beta showcase of its latest road navigation technology and a future rival to the Google Maps website.
The new site, at http://navteq.com allows users to plan road routes worldwide in 77 countries using draggable interactive 3D maps.
Played with it a few minutes.Google maps don't have anything to worry about for now.It is easy to use but not in the league of Google maps.
I think not from my short test run. However, the sat. images appear sharper at lower elevations. I didn't find any send or marker tools. Google Earth it's not. I don't use Google maps except to send locations from Google Earth to my GPS.
I will check out the route planner next.
I put a McDonalds in it and done a search. The screen shows all information address etc.Selected send to gps and it downloade information to my computer in a csv file.Showed 3 colums of information.Longitude,Latitudeand zip code and city in the 3rd column. No state.
rjrsw Nice find,
I hope this works out, competition makes the worked go around.
