Progress toward active status?

I haven't been here for a while. I haven't had a need to be here......
But, now I am back and looking around again and there is this "Progress toward active status" thing I noticed. What is this? Are we being graded on our participation? Has a some kind of caste system been established?
Am I worthy?

that when I announce to my wife, "I'm active!", she just rolls her eyes.

He also ask in an unusual tone "Who is the COW" "Did anyone help you today" "What are you talking about today" "Did you help anyone today"
AND "Don't you have anything better to do today, like cleaning the house"
He is really teasing me. He loves to adjudicate. One of his favorite things to do.
