I just added 3 new help articles to the
GARMIN NUVI TRICKS, TIPS, WORK AROUNDS, HINTS, SECRETS and IDEAS WEB site.
These 3 concern 'via points'.

Your solution certainly works, but I feel there is a better one. If, when you go to choose your Vermilionville via point, you choose the button to "Show Map" instead of choosing the "Go" button, you can tap the screen at a point you know you will reach (like the entrance to the park), and then hit the "Go" button. The via point is now the arrow where you touched the screen and NOT the original unreachable Vermilionville coordinates chosen from POIs or Favorites.
Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.
