How do I manage proximity alerts (Gamin Nuvi 360)

I have a Garmin Nuvi 360 and have enjoyed using POI's from the POI-factory. However, I have some alerts that pop up on some items that are obnoxious and won't go away.

How can I dismiss a proximity alert after I have chosen to ignore it? I know I can reduce the size of the proximity alert, but I like the proximity...I just want the ability to dismiss it when I do not want to see it anymore. Is there a way to permanently erase some POI's?

Thanks!

I'm not certain what you are asking

If you are asking about alerts for specific POI, just remove that line from the POI file. Of course, that also means you cannot locate that POI through a search. The other way is just to not specify alerts for that file. I only have alerts on about 5 of the 30 files I load.

Once you load a POI file onto the gps, there is no way (usually) to delete a specific location or file of locations. Nor, can you change the alerts (aside from disabling all custom-POI alerts). All you can do is reload/overwrite the files by running POI Loader again.

The exception would be that those people who have multiple gpi files can delete the specific no-longer-wanted file. Multiple gpi files require either renaming the gpi files after loading, or placement of multiple POI.gpi files into separate folders on the gps.

As suggested by a_user, most people eventually find the solution to be very few alerts other than enforcement files and rest areas.
