Hyundai & Garmin

I just got my spring flyer from Hyundai with a free oil filter coupon. On the next page there was a list for a Pre trip Checklist. The number one item on the list " Purchase a Garmin Nuvi Navigation system."
you can get one from your Hyundai dealer. Has any one bought a Nuvi from Hyundai? Has Garmin been available from any other car makers? I guess that they are looking everywhere to sell them .

Funny

You assumed this to be Garmin's attempt to open a new channel, and I would have guessed that in the current environment auto dealers must be trying to find new ways to get people into showrooms. If the price is in line with other dealer accessories (high margins), then I'm probably wrong, because that won't pull in many people.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

No chance!

Most car dealers offer some 3rd-party products that can be purchased with or after the purchase of the car. The official Ford Accessories brochure lists the Nuvi 360 and 680 and they are referred to as "Ford Licensed Accessories Products".

You should do a search on

You should do a search on Hyundai before you speak. They have improved their models tremendously over the years. They are one of best manufacturers right now. I am not sure what the ranking is but they are a force out there.

I must agree with you. I bought a new 2005 Hyundai Tuson SUV in Apri of 2005. I have now 53,000 miles on it and and it still runs like it was brand new. I still have 47,000 miles or 5 years left on the powertrain. This has made 4 round trips fron Boston MA to Hollywood FL. The only thing that I have done to it, was the normal upkeep. I would buy another one again.

In todays economy you would buy from Hyundai, Tsk tsk tsk.

Go ahead and Flame me, it will just be foreign car owners anyway. Remember, The few jobs that they create here in the States, put many Americans out of work down the pipe. And all the profits go back to the cars homeland not helping us a bit.
As far as that goes Garmins profits leave the country also, so go ahead and buy it from whomever, I said my thoughts on the matter.
