Self Serving

It's also in their best interest to pass along as many "violations" as they possibly can. Pure and simple - it's only about the money!

Ok so it's about the money!

Then come to a stop on red or don't speed then you have no problem, I don't agree with the camera's but crying about them isn't going to make them go away.

Keep your GPS POI's up to date, and report the new camera's here when you run across them, and the style in which they are being used.

Be pro-active to your surroundings and do what you need to do to avoid a ticket. If you can't then take a bus!

Never got one

I consider myself a safe driver. Never got any ticket for 10+ years (knock on wood). Well, that doesn't really prove anything smile Some may think that I might've been a lucky speed demon. Ok, I drive at the posted limit + 5MPH more or less, depending on the area.

However, I still can't get over the feeling that I may become a victim of an illegally tweaked RLC or perhaps a victim of bad timing. Spending sometime away from work to fight the ticket is just not worth it.

Knock on wood, I've not gotten any tickets. But I hear they get you around here by not coming to an absolute complete stop before turning right on a red light. That really stinks to come to an *almost* stop with no traffic and get a ticket for a technicality.

Yep, I've seen RLC flashes while a car in front of me makes a right turn without coming to a complete stop. That is why I count to 5 before proceeding. Sometimes paranoia kicks in. That's when I chicken out and remain stop until the light turns green. I just ignore the honking and swearing behind me.

Stop Lights

A lot of lights have walk/don'f walk signs. When you see the don't walk flashing you know the green light is stale. Start slowing down to let the person behing you know you intend to stop.

I have to wonder...

You have the right to face your accuser in court, but with a camera ticket who is your accuser:
The actual Camera that snapped the photo...
The Photo or video of you violating the law.
The Civilian who reviews the film and submits it to local Law Enforcement
Or the Police Officer that says "Yep" that's a violation and approves the ticket.

Can you drag them all into court? And no I am not going to be the "Test Rat" and find out.

.

I hope this isn't one of those jobs that require "H.S. Diploma or equivalent" or train people with a 30 minutes DVD in the break room. Or my favorite, have people making traffic decisions who do not drive or have a license themselves. Sometimes you'll go through the light if you check the rearview mirror and see the person is tailgating and not going to stop in time if you do brake hard for the light.

Ticket or accident?

hmmm...

Someone has to do this job. I only hope they do it fairly.
