A brand new Sonic will be opening next week. It is not yet showing on the Sonic website but here is the info to be added to the file:

Thanks for the input. I just stumbled on your submittal and that is why I haven't made the change. Changes to any files should be sent directly to the author if possible. That best assures that a change will be incorporated.
I agree that the coordinates in the file appear to be incorrect. However, when I use google earth to see where your coordinates show, I see only an open field,approx 1/4 mile from any road.Can I get you to verify the coordinates?

Sonic website shows the address to be:

Which address is correct? If I use the address on the website, what are the coordinates?

First of all, since this is a new location, the chance of it being a duplicate is slim to none. The files on poifactory are the most up to date files that can be obtained. The ones internal to the gps are at best a year or so out of date.
Secondly, the files in the unit and the files that you download are in separate files/folders. The downloaded files will be listed under extras or custom Poi's. You won't have to delete anything.

The file already contains a Sonic location in Gilroy,Ca. It is,
6921 Cameron Blvd, Gilroy,CA 95020, (408) 846-6400

Are you saying that there is a second location in Gilroy?

That location is already in the USA file. Do I need to change the coordinates?

The file I looked in was the Indiana state file. I missed checking the US file. How far off are the coordinates?

Thanks for your hard work. I looked it up there also, and although the current picture is a empty field, I believe a Sonic is acutally there. I will be going back through there Memorial weekend, so I will check the position again.

Using google earth, it looks to be about 200ft difference. Both are basically in a parking lot and I can't identify a sonic in either location. Let me know which ones I should use.

I stopped at the Greencastle Sonic today and recorded the lat/lon right in the driveway entrance, close to the road. Here's the info:

The Google Earth photo of the area is old. The new Sonic building isn't even shown, but it's there, trust me. I could smell the burgers.

Yep, sorry... I was looking at the individual states and noticed it didn't have an Oregon one.

The coordinates for the location at 10045 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22407-9418 are way off.

The correct coordinates are:

There is a new Sonic Restaurant in Montgomery IL I didn't get the address. It is in a "mall" at the corner of RT 34 and Hill Ave (Rt 30) Northwest corner

The signs are down and the building is dark, so I believe that this location is closed. It still shows up on their website, so time will tell...

I will leave that location in the file until it is removed from their website. However,I will add a note that this location may be closed.

I just got back from Fort Wayne, IN and Van Wert, OH. Sadly, I didn't get my Sonic fix. The following locations are permanently closed (also removed from Sonic's website):

Thanks for the input. I will remove those 3 locations from the file.

Sorry that I don't know the exact addresses, but I do know that one in Ephrata/Akron PA on Rte 272 (Reading Road), and one in Lancaster on US-30 (Lincoln Highway) are closed.

your input, I reviewed the remaining locations in PA and discovered that 8 additional locations have closed.

While I only visited Sonic occasionally, I drove past the two closed locations frequently. Also, you POI Factory maintainers are great, and we owe our confidence in these files to you, thanks!
