Bluetooth problem

I'm hoping someone here can help me out. I have a Nuvi370 and have been using the Bluetooth connection for a while with my phone (LG8350). This morning I noticed my Nuvi wasn't connecting to my phone. When I looked at the settings, the bluetooth feature had been disabled. When I try to enable it, it just hangs there with the words "Enabling BLuetooth" showing up on the screen. This in turn locks up the GPS.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,
Mark

bluetooth

did you try to reset nuvi (check manual how to do it)?
you may try as well to start service without phone around, and than try to pair devices one more time. or check as well for firmware updates, as many problems with fairly new technology is being solved by them.

so far i find bluetooth somehow problematic, as i tried it in cell phones and connected to my computer and pda. it usually drops connection from time to time, usually during important phone call wink

I had the same problem with

I had the same problem with my nüvi 680. I contacted Garmin Tech Support and they told me it was a corrupt bluetooth file. They sent me an older file version, with instructions on how to delete the current file and reinstall the older version. Then I used Webupdater to update back to the latest version. It has happened twice since October. I kept the file they sent and instructions and have reloaded twice. Hope this helps. It is frustrating. Good luck.

Could the problem lie on

Could the problem lie on your phone. Is the phone recognizing your GPS. On mine I use two devices to toggle between to use the bluetooth feature.

It's not the phone, because

It's not the phone, because the phone recognizes and even has the Nuvi installed as bluetooth.

Thanks for the tip. I

Thanks for the tip. I emailed Gramin Support who told me to use the WebUpdater. I replied giving them the software versions on the Nuvi. Now I'm waiting to hear back. Maybe I'll just give them a call top get this resolved.

I use the bluetooth feature for hands free. Living in NYC, the cops are really starting to target cell phone usage and I don't want any tickets.

Updater

Hi SIMark,
I've had similar problems with my 265T. Once, after locking up the GPS I couldn't get it to reset or reboot at all. Plugging it into a computer for data mode allowed it to reboot, though, and running the updater solved the bluetooth problem for me. I think you're on the right track with this CS investigation.

thanks to all

Thanks for all the suggestions. It's funny - I spent abput 40 minutes on the phone with Garmin support at which time they told me I'd have to send the Nuvi in for repair. In the meantime I emailed Support saying I heard there was a bluetooth problem, at which point they sent me instructions with a file to upload. Since then it is working fine.

Thanks again for proving why this site is so helpful:-).
