My gpsmap 60C has a 'best fishing times' predictor program. I'm trying to figure out how they are guessing the good times to fish? I typically head out either at low tide or high tide depending on the beach but this doesn't seem to agree with the program sometimes.
Anybody have any insight to the accuracy of this tool?
only for lakes?

It's comparing apples and watermelons. The fishing times are based on sun/moon/moon phase cycles while the tides are based on the position of the moon in relation to the earth.

Solunar Tables

I expect it calculates times similar to Solunar Tables (google Solunar Tables to get more info)
seems you are right. it
seems you are right. it seems to match that solunar table pretty closely with some sort of small correction for location
on my calendar it shows fish symbols:
1 fish "poor day"
2 fish "average day"
3 fish "good day"
4 fish "excellent day"
