Updated Speed/Redlight Camera POI's

Just a question. With each update, are all of the cameras still included or only new ones?

It seems that the first file I downloaed a month or so back had alot more cameras than the latest update.

But it could just be me though. smile

OK.....so where the heck am I?

Camera files

Miss POI spends many hours updating the camera file each week. New locations are added, old reports are verified and, many incorrect reports are deleted.

A lot of people report the traffic cameras located on traffic light arms as speed and red light cameras and these are being pared from the file.

Each Update Is a Complete List

Each update replaces the previously installed list and contains all current locations.

When installing a new

When installing a new version of redlight camera poi file, do I uninstall the existing one first, or just let the new one over-write the old one? If I have custome voice warnings, do I need to re-install them each time?

No need to delete any previous gpi file -- POI Loader will just overwrite the original. If you have a single gpi file containing multiple POI files, you must reload all the files every time you update one POI files. Eventually, you may want to look at other ways to do it, but in the beginning, I suggest you adopt Motorcycle Mama's methodology of forming categories by creating subfolders on your computer:

You can have subfolders under your main folder, if you want. The folders will create categories. You can't have more than one level of subfolder. The files themselves will create the subcategory.

For example, it might look like this.

> My POI (Main folder)
>> IHOP (subfolder)
... IHOP.csv
... IHOP.bmp
>> National Parks (subfolder)
... National Parks.gpx
... National Monuments.gpx
... National Recreation areas.gpx
... National Parks.bmp
... National Monuments.bmp
etc.

In this example, IHOP and National Parks show up as categories and then under National Parks, the subcategories of National Parks, National Monuments, and National Recreation Areas show up.

Here are some screenshots of what it would look like.

This is a shot of the folder and files on my computer.

This is how the first level shows up on my Zumo.

When I select the National Parks category, this is what I get.

Then if I select National Monuments, I get this.

Thanks for your informative

Thanks for your informative reply, bentbiker. If I am just updating the redlight POI, do I have to re-install the custom sound files each time?

Updated Redlight File

When you download the new redlight file to your PC, replace the previous version csv file with the new one, named the same. Leave the sound file right where it is in the same folder and then run POI Loader. It will reload and overwrite all the previous POIs and sound files on your GPS.
