Hello,
I am a long time viewer of this website, just a first time poster! I have a Nuvi 780 and I love it. I like the websites cool features.
I am in the market for a new car. I am leaning on purchasing a new Lincoln MKS this summer (2010 model). I like the ultimate package in the MKS. I am picking this package not just for the in-dash GPS but the other cool options available. In my research, I have not found how to load POIs in an in-dash GPS. Is it possible to load customized POIs, such as the red light cameras?
Thanks in advance!
Norm
How about Acura MDX

I have the similar question for loading POI's in my wife's in-dash GPS. It is a 2008 Acura MDX. It would neat to be able to do that.
Would be nice to do that.
Would be nice to do that. See if anyone has had success. Might be forced to do "hacking"

Sorry
Sorry guys, but you cannot load anything to an on-board GPS system. Unlike most "portable" GPS systems, an on-board system works off a DVD inserted into the system, and is a read-only system. I have a Honda Navi system, and as far as I know, no on-board systems will permit any changes whatsoever. Wait till you want to update the DVD in the system! Cost is about 3 times the cost of upgrading a portable system!!
Good luck......... Joel

Sad but true....I just bought the 2008 dvd for my lexus after the 2009 came out for $275...found a dealer who wanted to get rid of it for $50 and was very simple to load. When the new dvd's come out for the car check around as the old ones aren't much good to the dealer.
